The Liberty 458 is a 46-foot fiberglass cruising yacht built in 1985 by Shin Fa yard in Taiwan to a design by Peter Hoyt. Only 32 were produced, making this model a rare offshore-capable sailboat. The boat features a cutaway full keel with skeg-mounted rudder, delivering stable handling in varied sea conditions. Power comes from a Ford Lehman diesel engine rated at 90 horsepower, giving a cruising speed of 6.5 knots.
The interior showcases solid teak throughout with a warm, rubbed finish and reflects careful craftsmanship and thoughtful layout. The boat is arranged as a full-time liveaboard with generous storage suited to extended passages. Two heads serve the accommodations, and the design prioritizes both comfort and seaworthiness for serious ocean cruising.
In 2015 the boat underwent a major refit that included repainting the mast, replacing all standing and running rigging, and replacing the sails. The engine has logged low hours and systems are well maintained. The yacht is built and equipped for both bluewater passages and coastal exploration.
