The S2 K is a 26-foot racing sailboat and one of only 17 fin keel variants built on the proven S2 7.9 platform. Designed by Graham & Schlageter for MORC and one-design racing, this boat carries a deep, efficient fin keel with 1,550 lbs of ballast plus 220 lbs additional ballast in the hull. The double spreader masthead rig with the mast stepped at the keel enhances racing performance. A Nissan 5-horsepower four-stroke outboard with remote tank provides auxiliary power.
The interior is configured for competitive sailing rather than cruising comfort. Two quarter berth bunks flank the cabin, with forward berths removed to create storage for sails. Headroom measures 5 feet 5 inches. A navigation table sits to port, with counters running port and starboard amidships. An aluminum grid throughout the midsection provides structural support for the keel and hull while serving as the base for removable teak and holly cabin sole boards. A porta potti head and space for onboard sanitation complete the layout.
The boat carries an extensive racing sail inventory: newer North Kevlar and an older mainsail, multiple North genoas and jibs, three spinnakers including 0.75-ounce versions, and a spinnaker pole. Rigging includes rod standing rigging, dual Lewmar 30 primary two-speed winches with double-grip handles, dual Lewmar 16 cabin-top secondary winches, boom vang, backstay adjuster, traveler, and Tuff Luff headsail track. A Loos tension gauge and tiller steering with extension complete the setup.
Electronics include Nexus multi-function display with knot meter, depth sounder, and wind instrument. Additional equipment includes 12-volt electrical system, 30-amp shore power, manual bilge pump, Danforth anchor with chain and rode, four fenders, dock lines, boat hook, and wooden mast supports for transport. A steel cradle is included.
