This 1985 Silverton 40 Aft Cabin is a two-stateroom motor yacht built on a solid fiberglass hull with a 14-foot beam. She's powered by twin Crusader 454 inboards, each producing 350 horsepower, paired with Velvet Drive 2.62 to 1 gear reduction transmissions. The starboard transmission was rebuilt in 2019, and the engines have logged fewer than 1,000 hours. An Onan 6.5 kilowatt generator supports ship's systems.
The accommodations feature a galley and dinette on the lower level, separated from the salon by serving counters, with wraparound windows throughout. Both heads include shower stalls. The v-berth and aft cabin offer sleeping quarters. Recent updates include new flooring throughout—vinyl plank in the salon, bamboo in the galley-way to the v-berth, and carpet in the aft cabin—along with new cushions in the v-berth and dinette. Light oak interior woodwork is original to 1985 models. The galley includes a three-burner Princess stove with oven and a refrigerator. A teak-and-holly sole runs through the galley.
Current systems include dual climate control units, a 2,500-watt inverter with transfer switch, 600 watts of solar panels with a 50-amp controller, and three 4D battery banks. Fresh water capacity is 100 gallons; fuel tanks total 300 gallons. The holding tank has a 40-gallon capacity with an accurate gauge. A windlass with 200 feet of rope and 8 feet of chain, plus a #65 Bruce anchor, provide anchoring capability. Raymarine radar, an Interphase depth finder, and Lawrance GPS aid navigation.
The boat has been maintained in freshwater only. Recent work includes new VacuFlush head components, dual climate control units installed in 2024, an icemaker fitted in 2020, and various generator repairs and replacements documented through recent years.
