1986 Beneteau First 42

The 1986 Beneteau First 42 is a classic cruising sailboat built for long-distance passagemaking. This fiberglass hull measures 42 feet in length with a 13-foot beam, powered by a Perkins 4108 diesel engine producing 40 horsepower. The design is known for its seaworthiness, ease of handling, and proven ability to cross oceans.

Below deck, the yacht carries substantial tankage: 40 gallons of fuel, 40 gallons of fresh water, and a 15-gallon holding tank. The galley features an ENO three-burner stove with oven and a dual-voltage Norcold refrigerator. A Wabasto EVO 550C diesel heater provides warmth in cooler climates. A Sea-B-Q barbecue is mounted on deck.

Navigation and communication equipment includes B and G Zeus3 S chartplotter, B and G V-60 B VHF radio, King 7000 VHF, and an AutoHelm autopilot with wind speed readout. Onboard power management consists of a Xantrex TrueCharge 40-amp charger, one 31 AGM battery, and four 6V batteries. A Jensen stereo and Data Marine 500 Link are also installed.

Ground tackle consists of a Rocna 20 anchor with 200 feet of 5/16-inch galvanized chain and 200 feet of 5/8-inch nylon rode. A Lewmar 1500 windlass handles anchor deployment. The headliner in the V-berth, aft cabin, and aft head requires repair.
