1986 CAL 33

This 1986 Cal 33 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built for freshwater cruising and has remained on the Great Lakes since new. The boat carries a 30 hp Yanmar diesel auxiliary engine paired with a fixed two-blade prop, with a folding three-blade Gori prop available as an option. The Cal 33 design from the Hunt office is known for balanced performance and solid construction, equally capable for coastal cruising or racing.

The sail plan features a North 3Di mainsail and 140 percent furling genoa, both new in 2003, with a new Lazy Jack system installed for mainsail handling. New running rigging has been completed. Navigation and entertainment systems include new Raymarine multi-function displays at both the helm and cabin, with a SeaTalk NG backbone for expandability. Additional equipment includes a Dodger, Sirius XM Weather capability, and a flat screen TV.

Recent significant work includes a bottom job completed in 2023, a rebuilt rudder, a new head with tank and hoses, and a leather wheel wrap. The boat has been continuously maintained and upgraded over the last few years by dedicated owners, reflecting care and investment in the systems and structure throughout.
