1986 Cherubini 48 Staysail Schooner

This 1986 Cherubini 48 Staysail Schooner embodies the classic design principles of L. Francis Herreshoff, interpreted by John Cherubini. Her clipper bow with bowsprit, low freeboard, and raised bulwarks aft create distinctive proportions that define her character. The schooner rig, balanced helm, and shoal draft make her an able performer in near-coastal waters and across oceans alike, with a cruising speed of 7 knots. Her exterior showcases an Aristo Blue hull with white sheer and boot stripes, red bottom paint, and varnished teak detailing throughout the cabin trunk, handrails, and cockpit—all maintained in bright condition.

Below deck, the yacht features traditional mahogany joinery with raised-panel bulkheads and white-painted hull ceilings executed in Herreshoff style. Two cabins and two heads provide comfortable accommodations, with generous storage and ventilation suited to extended cruising. The cabin top and deck are finished in Moondust non-skid with gloss white waterways, while the spars are painted to match.

A 115 hp Yanmar diesel powers the yacht. Major systems were refitted during 2013–2014, including a new engine, refrigeration, air conditioning, and a complete electrical system with new wiring and chargers.
