The Pilgrim 40 is a 40-foot fiberglass trawler built in 1986, powered by a single 100 hp Westerbeke diesel engine with center inboard configuration and direct drive. The boat has accumulated approximately 8,900 hours of operation and is reported to achieve around 4 miles per gallon at 1600 rpm. Oil changes have been performed every 150 hours with no oil loss between services.
