1986 Hunter 28.5

The Hunter 28.5 is a fiberglass sailing yacht from 1986, measuring 28 feet in length with a 10.5-foot beam. Power comes from a single 16 hp Yanmar inboard diesel engine. The boat carries a full complement of sail gear including a roller furling jib, traditional mainsail, whisker pole, and twin Maxwell winches. A Danforth anchor with 20 feet of chain and 60 feet of rode is stowed in the anchor locker. Deck hardware includes stainless steel fittings, a boarding ladder, and a helm pedestal with Ritchie compass.

Below deck, the layout provides comfortable overnight accommodation with a forward full V-berth, aft cabin with full berth, and a single head with manual toilet. The main salon features a U-shaped settee with drop leaf table, navigation station with desk and shelving, and galley equipped with a top-loading ice box and Origo two-burner stove. Teak and holly flooring adds traditional character throughout.

Electronics include a Si-Tex 3100 tri-data display, Raymarine depth finder, and Cobra handheld VHF radio. The boat carries dual battery monitors and an Attwood charger, with both 12V DC and 120V AC electrical systems. Heating and cooling options include a portable heater and fans.

Recent work includes hull sanding, compounding, and waxing completed in October 2025, cabin sole replacement in 2023, thru-hull service in 2020, and winch servicing in 2019.
