1986 Little Harbor AFt Cockpit K/CB Sloop

This 1986 Little Harbor sloop is a 42-foot cruising yacht built with hand-laid fiberglass hull and Airex foamcore construction. The design, credited to Ted Hood, combines sturdy offshore capability with comfortable accommodations. The boat carries lead keel ballast and a centerboard, with a 2023 Nanni 50 hp diesel engine driving a Max prop three-blade wheel. A 2020 Sidepower bow thruster and electric windlass add practical cruising conveniences. The yacht is fitted with a 2.5 hp Yamoto outboard on the transom and includes a six-person Hypalon dinghy.

The main cabin arranges galley-forward around a central salon with two settees and a drop-leaf table seating six. The galley to port holds a three-burner Mariner stove with oven, a Sea Frost refrigerator and freezer, and a double stainless sink with both pressure and hand-operated fresh and seawater systems. The nav station sits to starboard under the cockpit, while an aft quarter berth provides additional sleeping space. Forward is the owner's cabin with a vee berth. A head with shower serves the accommodations. The teak-laid deck and T-shaped teak cockpit are noted in very good condition.

The sails and rigging include a Hood electric in-mast furler, a 2003 North mainsail, and a 2013 Harken MKIV 2 roller furling headsail, both inspected recently. The rig features 2013 rod rigging, a Navtec hydraulic vang with cockpit controls, and six electric self-tailing Barient winches arranged around the mast. The boat carries 85 gallons of fuel and 125 gallons of water. Recent work includes a 2023 forward hatch replacement, 2020 rebedding of opening ports with screens, and varnish restoration planned on half-round and trim. The 2013 bottom was soda-blasted and epoxied by Clarke Marine.
