1986 Oyster 406 Coach Roof
About This Yacht
The 1986 Oyster 406 Coach Roof is the first hull of this design to be completed. Built from fiberglass, she measures just over 40 feet with a beam of nearly 13 feet and is powered by a single 51 hp Perkins diesel engine. Originally purchased for Mediterranean sailing, the boat has seen relatively light use and benefits from consistent maintenance throughout her life. She is now berthed in Morlaix, a sheltered marina on the Breton coast.
The current owner has maintained an extensive maintenance schedule since July 2022, addressing both routine upkeep and specific systems. Work completed includes application of anti-fouling and protective coatings below the waterline, replacement of engine oil and alternator belt, removal and dry storage of sails during winter months, hull polishing and brightwork restoration, and verification of standing rigging. A rigid hull inflatable tender of 3.2 meters was added to the inventory. Recent updates include replacement of the mast boot and deck ring silicone joint in January 2025, and wiring replacement for the windlass controller in December 2024. A 2020 survey is available for review.
The boat is equipped for cruising and offers both sailing capability and living accommodation. Running rigging requires replacement. She comes with a 3.2-meter rigid hull inflatable tender with polyester resin hull.
