This 1986 Sabre 36 centerboard sloop is a fiberglass cruising yacht built for both offshore passages and shallow-water exploration. The centerboard design offers the flexibility to cruise comfortably in deeper waters and skinny bays alike. She is powered by a 27-horsepower Westerbeke engine and measures 36 feet in length with an 11.25-foot beam. The Sabre 36 is recognized for its balanced helm, responsive sailing characteristics, and proven seaworthiness—qualities reflected in this example's cruising history of multiple Bahamas voyages and offshore passages to Bermuda.
The interior features beautiful teak throughout with 6 feet 3 inches of headroom. The forward cabin contains a V-berth double with storage. The main salon includes a port-side dinette with a convertible drop-down table and opens to a navigation station to starboard with a quarter berth. The head is positioned forward on the port side with dual access, manual marine toilet, holding tank with offshore discharge pump, vanity with hot and cold pressure water, and a handheld shower. The U-shaped galley aft to port has a two-burner CNG stove with oven, pressurized hot and cold water, a freshwater foot pump, and a double stainless-steel sink with ice box and ample storage.
The boat is equipped with a 12V DC / 120V AC electrical system, ICOM VHF radio, battery monitor, and single wheel steering. An Autohelm 6000 autopilot is installed but currently inoperative. Sailing gear includes a mainsail with two reef points, jiffy reefing system, roller furling jib, hydraulic backstay adjuster, two primary and two secondary winches, boom vang, traveler, and whisker pole. A dinghy with outboard, plow anchor, swim ladder, dodger, and full safety equipment are on board.
The boat has not been in active use recently and will require cleaning and light cosmetic restoration before returning to cruising condition. She remains fundamentally sound, with the solid construction and classic lines characteristic of Sabre yachts.
