Moonraker is a 47-foot Macintosh Center Cockpit built in 1987 as part of a limited sixteen-boat series. Designed by Tim King, this fiberglass cruiser combines offshore capability with comfortable living spaces. The center cockpit seats six with easy access to lines, winches, and a 40-inch wheel; a walk-through transom with steps facilitates boarding. A 75-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine installed in 2020 with 300 hours of operation delivers cruising speeds around 7.5 knots, supported by a Kohler 8-kilowatt diesel generator and comprehensive systems for extended passagemaking.
The interior accommodates sleeping for five to six guests across multiple cabins. The aft cabin features a convertible centerline queen berth with a newer mattress that folds to create additional sitting space, while the forward guest cabin offers a pullman queen to port and single berth to starboard. A lowering electric dinette provides another sleeping surface. The galley sits amidships with abundant counter space, double sinks, storage, a three-burner stove with oven, microwave, and refrigerator-freezer. Two heads with vanity sinks—one wet, one stall shower—service the accommodation spaces. Central heating and air conditioning run throughout the yacht.
Recent mechanical work includes new drive shaft, supply coupling, and cutlass bearing, along with newer freshwater electric toilets and new Lewmar oceanic hatches. The bottom was primed and painted in mid-2024, and all through-hulls were inspected and replaced as needed that same year. Deck equipment includes an electric windlass, a bronze feathering propeller, electric watermaker, dual solar panels with newer MPPT controller, and hydraulic boom vang and backstay. Sails comprise a roller-furling genoa, mainsail, self-tacking staysail, and spinnaker on fully upgraded rod rigging with six self-tailing winches. Navigation and autopilot rely on newer Raymarine electronics, with VHF radio including AIS, depth, and speed instrumentation. Power management uses a Xantrex inverter-charger with shore power capability.
