1987 Marine Trader 47 Tradewinds Cockpit Motor Yacht

This 1987 Marine Trader 47 is a fiberglass-hulled trawler powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 Turbo diesel engines producing 750 hp combined. The yacht cruises at 17 knots and displaces 30,000 lbs. It features dual helm stations—upper and lower—providing flexible control options. The upper helm includes captain's seats, a full Sunbrella canvas enclosure, and comprehensive electronics including a Raymarine C90 GPS/radar/chartplotter, EchoPilot forward scanning sonar, and an iCom VHF with GPS/AIS/DSC. The lower helm is similarly equipped with a Raymarine C120 system and independent controls.

Below deck, the yacht sleeps up to six across two cabins. The forward v-berth quarters include a guest head with shower, electric flush toilet, and deck hatch with screen. The aft master stateroom is a large space with queen bed, ensuite head with shower and tub, and generous storage. The main salon features wood flooring, new headliner, LED lighting, and L-shaped sofa with storage. A galley includes dual stainless sinks, 11.5 cu ft refrigerator, 900W microwave, and two-burner induction cooktop, all powered by the vessel's electrical system.

Significant systems upgrades since 2023 include a 600Ahr Victron lithium house bank with 3000W inverter/charger, 700W solar array with MPPT controller, and Victron battery management system. A new fresh water pump (70 psi, 6 gpm), 11-gallon hot water heater with engine heat exchanger, and three Rule bilge pumps with float switches support cruising independence. The aft cockpit deck was completely rebuilt and reinforced in 2021, and hull bottom was painted with fresh buffing in both 2021 and 2024. Propeller shafts were new in 2022 and tuned in October 2025. A Rocna 33kg anchor with 100 feet of 3/8" chain and dinghy caddy tender system complete the setup; a 10.4 ft Durass inflatable dinghy is included.

This yacht carries 475 gallons of diesel fuel across five tanks, 100 gallons fresh water, and 50 gallons holding capacity. Major wiring was upgraded to ABYC standards in 2023. Recent 2025 work included new forward berth mattresses, salon curtains, aft cockpit LED lights, and engine oil change with propeller tuning.
