1987 Nordia 82 Ketch

This 82-foot aluminum-hulled ketch was built by the respected Dutch shipyard Van Dam Nordia in 1987. Her long-keel design and ketch-cutter rig with hydraulically operated sails make her stable and straightforward to handle, even with a small crew. She cruises at 8 knots with a top speed of 10 knots, powered by a Mercedes diesel engine.

Between 2017 and 2020, the yacht underwent a comprehensive refit that renewed virtually all major systems and components. The engine room was fully rebuilt with new stainless-steel piping, new wiring, a practical workbench, and modern relay cabinets controllable by manual panels or PLC. The interior received new LED lighting, upgraded white joinery, and individual climate control in each cabin. Five new ceramic electric toilets were installed, fed into two black-water tanks. Her teak deck, laid in 2012, remains in good condition.

Navigation is thoroughly current, with three B&G Zeus³ chart plotters positioned at the helm, in the cockpit, and at the navigation station, all integrated into an NMEA2000 network with broadband radar and autopilot. The yacht accommodates 10 people across four guest cabins with eight berths and one crew cabin with two berths, with five heads throughout.

For self-sufficiency at sea, three systems were added: a 900-watt solar array integrated into the bimini, a 100 Ah shaft alternator for charging while sailing, a 200-litre hot-water boiler heated by the main engine or regenerated cooling water, and a recently installed Whisper Power 20 kW generator. This combination of renewed systems, modern electronics, and self-sufficiency equipment makes her well-suited for extended cruising.
