1987 Norseman 400

The Norseman 400 is a 40-foot fiberglass sailing yacht designed by Gary Grant. Her modern hull and deck layout conceal a surprisingly spacious interior marked by bright, open living areas and elegant accommodation. With 6'6" headroom, six opening hatches, seven opening ports, four Dorade vents, and two light prisms alongside fixed cabin windows, the boat delivers exceptional ventilation and natural light throughout.

The interior comprises three cabins and one head, offering comfortable cruising accommodations. The design balances generous cabin volume with thoughtful layout, creating an airy feel without sacrificing functionality. A cruising speed of 7 knots is achieved by a 46-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine.

Recent work includes a new mast, boom, and standing rigging, along with new fully-battened mainsail and 150% genoa. The hull and deckhouse have been refinished with new gelcoat, and the rudder and steering system are new. Interior upholstery and bedding have been completely replaced, and the yacht is equipped with a watermaker, new bimini, and new dodger.
