1987 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport

This 1987 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport is a twin-diesel sportfish with substantial recent upgrades throughout. Powered by twin Detroit Diesel 671 engines producing 970 horsepower, the boat reaches a maximum speed of 30 knots and cruises at 27 knots. The fiberglass hull has been sandblasted and epoxy-coated with fresh paint applied in 2023 and 2024, while the topsides were polished and waxed in June 2025. The teak cockpit was completely refinished, and the swim platform was extended 36 inches and fitted with a transom door and stainless brackets in 2022 and 2023.

The accommodations include two cabins and two heads. The main cabin received new upholstery, carpet with underpadding, and a custom mattress in 2023. A 42-inch flat-screen television with power lift was installed in 2023, along with new remote-controlled lithium-powered blinds. The entertainment system features Yamaha surround sound with DVD and new teak stereo cabinetry added in 2024. A central vacuum system serves the interior. The galley has a new refrigerator and microwave-convection oven, both installed in 2023.

Mechanical systems include a Westerbeke 11kW generator and 50-amp shore power service. Air conditioning with reverse cycle heating provides climate control. Battery storage comprises two 8D cranking batteries and four 100Ah gel cell house batteries from 2022 and 2023, plus six additional deep-cycle house batteries installed in 2023. A 4000-watt inverter, ProNautic battery charger, and 40-amp three-bank charger support onboard power. Solar panels totaling 780 watts with a controller were added in 2022. Navigation and radar electronics include a Raymarine chartplotter, Furuno radar, autopilot, compass, speed and depth sounder, VHF radio, and AIS transponder. An oil changer system simplifies engine maintenance. The hardtop provides weather protection, and underwater LED lights and new LED bridge docking lights complete the exterior. All exterior teak was stripped and refinished with Cetol Gloss in 2024.
