The 1987 Tayana 42 is a proven bluewater cruising sailboat built in fiberglass with a full cutter rig. At 42 feet in length and 12 feet in beam, she carries the design pedigree of the Vancouver 42 and is powered by a Yanmar diesel engine. The yacht has undergone significant refitting work including renewal of the standing and running rigging, upgraded electrical systems with solar power generation, and custom canvas throughout.
The accommodations feature two cabins and one head, arranged to provide comfortable cruising quarters for extended passages. The aft cabin layout takes advantage of the hull form to maximize livable space.
Recent work has included rigging upgrades and electrical enhancements to support offshore cruising. The addition of solar charging rounds out the mechanical systems upgrades, keeping the boat ready for extended time away from shore power.
