The 1987 Westerly Konsort Duo 29 is a fiberglass motor sailer built for comfortable cruising, with a distinctive pilothouse design and bilge keel construction that provides stability and allows the boat to rest upright in shallow water. Hull number 65 of 70 built, the boat measures nearly 29 feet in length with a 10'10" beam and draws 3'4". Dual steering positions—one sheltered inside the saloon and one in the open cockpit—let you navigate in whatever conditions suit you. The hull bottom was painted in September 2024.
Below deck, the layout centers on a spacious saloon with large windows and an interior helm, combining a dinette that converts to a double berth with a separate settee and galley. The galley runs a three-burner propane range, and the original icebox has been replaced with a Norcold refrigeration unit. A forward cabin contains a V-berth for two, and the head is equipped with a Lavac toilet.
Power comes from a Volvo 10D-30 30 hp diesel engine with approximately 900 hours on the clock, paired with a ZDF transmission that shows about 500 hours. A 5 kW Northern Light generator supplies shore power, supplemented by two 100-watt Renogy solar panels, a 1300-watt wind generator, and a Promariner charger. The boat carries two lead acid start batteries and three AGM 12-volt house batteries, plus a Katadyn water maker and air conditioning system.
Navigation and electronics are comprehensive: a Raymarine C80 chart plotter, autopilot, and radar form the core, with a B&G Vulcan 7 as secondary plotter, Standard Horizon VHF, depth sounder, and AIS transceiver. The aluminum mast stands 35'8" from the waterline and carries a 159% furled gennaker and main from Ullman Sails, with stainless steel standing rigging and a pulpit-mounted hydraulic jackstay.
