1988 Beneteau First 285

The 1988 Beneteau First 285 is a 28-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built for responsive performance in shallow waters. The boat features a solid fiberglass hull and is powered by a single Yanmar 2GM20F diesel engine that was rebuilt in 2023. The sail plan includes a Sobstad battened main with reef points, a UK roller furling genoa, and a UK Flasher asymmetrical cruising spinnaker, all managed by self-tailing winches and roller furling systems with a whisker pole.

Below deck, the yacht sleeps four in two cabins: a double V-berth forward and a double berth aft. The main salon features varnished teak bulkheads, port and starboard settees with a centerline drop-leaf table, and LED lighting throughout. The galley to port is equipped with an island sink, two-burner propane stove with gas detector, and ice box. The electrical system incorporates AGM house and starting batteries, shore power, and solar battery chargers with controller. Additional features include a dual water heater with both dock and engine heating, automatic and manual bilge pumps, bimini top, swim ladder, transom shower, and down-the-hatch wind scoop. The boat carries 20 gallons of water, 10 gallons of holding tank capacity, and 10 gallons of fuel.
