This 1988 Black Watch 30 Sportfish Convertible is a fiberglass-hulled convertible designed by C. Ray Hunt with a baltec-cored construction that delivers light weight and fuel efficiency. Twin Cummins 6BTA-5.9 diesel engines produce 250 horsepower each, with new turbos and injectors recently installed. The boat cruises at 22 mph and burns approximately 14 gallons per hour at cruise speed, with 1,686 hours on the engines.
The cockpit is substantial, offering generous fishing space with a tuna door for landing larger catch. A flybridge provides elevated sightlines for spotting birds and baitfish. Below deck, a V-berth forward includes a hanging locker and storage, while the galley to port features a sink, two-burner stove, and under-counter refrigerator. The V-berth filler converts to a dinette table. A private enclosed head compartment holds a marine head, sink, and shower.
Electronics and systems include a Northern Lights 130-hour generator, radar, GPS, fish finder, and compass. The boat is equipped with spreader lights, rocket launchers, air conditioning, and a six-person life raft. New upholstery has been installed throughout. The generator shows 130 hours of use.
The forward deck around the hatch and aft cockpit have soft spots that require repair. Otherwise the boat shows no leaks or odors.
