1988 Caroff Lex Eterna 46

The Lex Eterna 46 is a steel-hulled ketch built in 1988 by Caroff, measuring 46 feet with an 18-foot beam. Powered by a Perkins 4270 diesel engine rated at 60 horsepower, the boat underwent a complete engine overhaul in April 2023 and currently shows approximately 300 engine hours. The hull received significant restoration work in 2023, including sandblasting and multi-layer epoxy protection both externally and internally.

The boat accommodates four cabins: three with double berths and one with three single beds, plus additional storage. The saloon is generously proportioned and can be configured to add two more berths if needed. The galley is equipped with a gas stove, oven, and 12/24/220-volt refrigeration. The head features an electric toilet. A Borg Warner hydraulic 2:1 reverser manages propulsion, and steering is centered in the cockpit with a large aft trunk for storage.

Recent equipment includes a Plastimo liferaft, Epirb and AIS wifi units, a new hydraulic pump paired with Raymarine autopilot controls, and a depth sounder with log function. Navigation and power systems feature 300-ampere lithium iron phosphate batteries, 469 watts of solar panels, and Victron dock chargers. Fuel capacity is 300 liters; water capacity is 700 liters. The sails are relatively recent and have seen light use since the boat departed France. Two inflatable paddles are included.
