The Gulfstar Hirsch is a 45-foot center cockpit sailing yacht built in 1985 with a fiberglass hull. She features a Perkins diesel engine producing 50 horsepower and cruises at 7 knots. The boat's recent refit has upgraded all major systems with particular focus on seaworthiness and comfort for extended offshore cruising.
Below deck, the yacht accommodates two cabins with an aft master berth and forward V-berth, each with its own head. The interior has been substantially renewed: the sole is new, saloon woodwork has been refinished, and four additional storage cabinets have been installed. The galley includes new refrigeration, and two new Marinière air conditioning units provide cooling independent of shore power.
The electrical system represents a modern upgrade, with 1200 amps of lithium-ion battery capacity paired with 1600 watts of solar panels and twin 3000-watt inverters. Navigation and electronics have been completely updated with new Raymarine systems including a 12-inch Axiom chartplotter. Both 60-gallon water tanks were removed, professionally cleaned, and reinstalled with new water lines.
Exterior refinishing includes fresh Awlgrip paint on the hull sides and cockpit, with additional paint included. The 13.25-foot beam provides a comfortable platform, and this configuration has proven popular among cruisers—Gulfstar built only 30 of this model.
