The 1988 Catalina 34 is a proven mid-sized cruiser built on a fiberglass hull measuring 34 feet in length with an 11.75-foot beam. Power comes from a single 23-horsepower Universal diesel engine. The boat carries a Garmin 743 XSV color GPS, Garmin 18HD radar, and a Horizon GX2410 radio with AIS for navigation and communication. A 100-amp alternator and two 100-watt solar panels support the electrical system.
The boat has been upgraded over the years with several key components replaced or added: a Harken roller-furler for the headsail, a fully battened mainsail, an Autohelm 4000 autopilot, a hard boom vang, and a Rocna Claw anchor with chain and rode. A swim platform, dinghy davits, and stainless steel shaft with dripless stuffing box are installed. The main salon cushions have been renewed, and there is a Mermaid air conditioning unit aboard.
The single head and practical layout make this a capable cruiser for extended time away from the dock. Fresh bottom paint was applied in 2023.
