1988 Cooper 60

This 1988 Cooper 60 is a cutter-rigged pilothouse sloop built by Cooper in Vancouver to withstand demanding offshore conditions. Designed by Stan Huntingford, the yacht measures 68 feet with a 15-foot beam and carries a fiberglass hull. Only four examples of this model were built. The interior features teak joinery throughout.

Powered by a single 165-horsepower Perkins diesel engine, the boat cruises at 8.5 knots with a maximum speed of 10 knots. Two generators provide redundancy, supplemented by a get-home system, hydraulic bow thruster, and substantial fuel capacity for extended range. The accommodation plan includes two cabins and two heads.

Recent work includes new standing rigging installed in 2019, new sails added in 2022, and new batteries fitted in 2020. The hull received full Awlgrip paint, and new teak decks were laid in 2015. Electronics were upgraded in 2016. An extensive osmosis treatment was completed in 2021 following seven months hauled out. New upholstery and deckheads were installed in January 2026. A detailed maintenance record spanning the last decade documents overhauls of major systems, including completion of the Perkins engine's 6000-hour service.
