Kokomo VI is a 1988 Cooper Pilothouse 60, a cutter-rigged bluewater sloop built by Cooper Shipyard in Vancouver. One of only four examples of this model ever constructed, she was designed by Stan Huntingford and represents the builder's commitment to quality craftsmanship and seaworthiness. The boat features a fiberglass hull, measures 68 feet in length with a 15-foot beam, and is powered by a single 165 hp Perkins diesel engine with a cruising speed of 8.5 knots.
Below deck, Kokomo VI offers two cabins and two heads with teak joinery throughout. The yacht is exceptionally well-equipped for extended cruising, with two generators, a hydraulic bow thruster, and redundant systems designed for single-handed operation. Her main engine provides substantial range for ocean passages.
Recent maintenance includes an Awlgrip hull repaint, new teak decks fitted in 2015, new rigging in 2019, and fresh batteries in 2020. In 2021, the yacht underwent extensive osmosis treatment after spending seven months hauled out. A full electronics upgrade was completed in 2016. The Perkins engine reached its 6000-hour service in Singapore. Detailed maintenance records covering ten years of overhaul work on major systems are available.
