1988 Jarvis Newman HARDTOP CRUISER

This 32-foot Jarvis Newman hardtop cruiser combines downeast practicality with comfortable weekending accommodations. Built on a fiberglass hull with a light gray topsides and green bottom, she features a large aft cockpit with teak swim platform and flexible indoor-outdoor spaces defined by canvas drop curtains and sliding cabin doors. The pilothouse includes two captain's chairs at the helm, a Garmin chartplotter, flip-up navigation table, and engine-driven refrigeration. Handrails and a centerline Maxwell windlass with foot pedal controls run the full length of the cabin top, while an anchor roller and searchlight are positioned for easy operation.

Below deck, the layout opens to a spacious vee berth forward with overhead hatch and brass reading lights, an L-shaped galley to port with three-burner Tasco stove and oven, and a head compartment to starboard with composting Air head. Interior joinery is varnished teak and holly. The galley and head both feature bronze opening ports with screens, overhead dome lighting, and stainless steel sinks. A Fusion sound system with Bluetooth and Bose speakers is mounted above the hanging locker, which also houses an Espar cabin heater.

Power comes from a 2004 Yanmar 6LP-STE diesel, 315 hp, removed and rebuilt in 2021. The engine drives through a ZF Hurth 2.76:1 reduction gear, 2-inch stainless shaft, and 5-blade bronze prop, delivering cruising speeds of 12 knots and a maximum of 16–17 knots. Tankage includes 130 gallons of fuel in two aluminum tanks, 40 gallons of fresh water, and 8 gallons of holding capacity. Navigation and monitoring systems include Garmin radar and GPS, Raymarine autopilot, and ICOM VHF radio. The boat is equipped with docklines, fenders, life slings, PFDs, a 35-pound CQR anchor with chain and nylon rode, and a cockpit bimini. Bow hardware was recently rebedded.
