The Dübbel & Jesse Nordsee 55 is an aluminum sailing yacht built in 1989 by Yachtbau Dübbel & Jesse in Norderney, Germany. Designed for extended cruising and long-term living aboard, the 55.77-foot hull weighs approximately 30 tons and features an encapsulated lead keel with bulb for good sailing performance and initial stability. The deck layout is engineered to allow sailing and operation by a small crew, with an aft cockpit for steering and all primary controls accessible from both the aft and midship cockpits. All sails are hydraulically operated using Reckmann systems. Teak decking and cabin-top cladding are glued in place and in good condition. Twelve dorade vents provide continuous fresh air circulation. The windows are 22 mm thick laminated and chemically hardened glass.
The interior is finished in light Apfelbirchen and quilted birch with attractive grain patterns. The salon features a seating area with floor heating on the port side and a navigation station with galley opposite on the starboard side. The owner's cabin aft includes an en-suite bathroom. A guest cabin forward has its own head and shower. Central heating and floor heating serve the living areas. An air conditioning system with seawater cooling is installed with controls in each cabin, though not recently used.
The single Mercedes MTU diesel engine of 170 horsepower is positioned in a midships engine room with good access for inspection and service. The boat carries extensive technical systems including a generator, watermaker, central heating plant, hydraulically-operated roller mainsail and roller headsails, and multiple solar panels. Systems have been regularly maintained throughout the yacht's ownership.
