1989 Island Packet 35

This 1989 Island Packet 35 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built with a full-foil keel and solid construction designed for safety and seakeeping in a range of conditions. The boat measures 35 feet in length with a 12-foot beam and is powered by a 35-horsepower Yammer diesel engine paired with a rebuilt transmission.

Below deck, the layout includes a forward V-berth, a port-side head with shower, a spacious main salon with opposing settees, an aft-facing navigation station, a starboard galley with deep sink and refrigeration, and a port double berth cabin. Storage, ventilation, and usability are well thought out throughout the interior.

The boat has undergone a comprehensive refit over the last two to three years with updates across all critical systems. New standing rigging and chain plates, bronze thru hulls and sea cocks, shaft and coupling, and a rebuilt Yammer engine with new mounts are among the structural and mechanical work completed. The diesel fuel tank, water tanks now totaling 150 gallons, all water and head hoses, and the holding tank have been replaced or restored. A new reverse-cycle HVAC system, 6-gallon hot water heater, propane stove with oven, and Dometic refrigeration with freezer support comfort at the dock and underway.

Navigation and safety equipment includes a Garmin chartplotter with radar, depth, and AIS, dual VHF radios, two depth transducers, two autopilots, an electric windlass, dual anchor roller with anchor and rode, davits, dinghy with outboard motor, life raft, and EPIRB. A new bimini with full enclosure and dodger, new cockpit cushions, and a 480-amp lithium house battery bank with 400-watt solar panels and Victron controller round out the upgrades. The boat carries an extensive inventory of Yammer spare parts.
