The Island Packet 35 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built in 1989, representing the first mid-thirties design from Island Packet. The design centers on a full keel with spade rudder, masthead cutter rig, and shoal draft—hallmarks of the Island Packet philosophy refined through the second generation. A 35 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine provides auxiliary power.
The boat measures 35 feet in length with a 12-foot beam and features an aft cabin and separate fore cabin, offering private sleeping quarters fore and aft. The hull, keel, and rudder were refined from earlier Island Packet designs, with particular attention to cruising performance and comfort in varied sea states. Storage is generous throughout, and the layout provides ample room for extended time aboard.
This example comes equipped with a boom-furling mainsail, bow thruster, air conditioning, propane heater, and radar. The boat has received regular maintenance and care, with multiple upgrades reflecting modern cruising needs while preserving the core Island Packet characteristics that earned the design recognition in offshore cruising competitions.
