The 1989 Sabre 30 III is a fiberglass masthead sloop built for lasting performance. Measuring 30.5 feet in length with a 10.5-foot beam and 5.3-foot draft, this classic design carries a fin keel and a single 18-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine with 697 hours of use. The boat has spent the majority of its life in fresh water in the northeast and benefits from the region's mild conditions.
The interior showcases skilled joinery throughout, with varnished teak and holly cabinetry, bulkheads, and flooring. Forward lies a V-berth with filler cushion and an enclosed head featuring a manual toilet, shower, holding tank, and hot and cold water. The main salon contains port and starboard settees with a folding teak table; the settee converts to a double berth. Navigation station sits to starboard aft, while the galley to port aft includes a two-burner stove with oven, icebox, and stainless steel sink.
A comprehensive rebuild took place in 2012, which included new subfloor and teak-holly flooring, solid block under the mast step, refinishing all interior teak, new Corian countertops in the galley and chart table, replacement of the galley stove top, new Racor fuel and water separator, new Jabsco head and waste lines, and fresh interior foam and cloth cushions. New full-batten main and triradial 150 headsails were installed, along with new LED cabin lights, replaced fixed windows, new halyards and reef lines, a new cherry cockpit table, and exterior topsides were stripped and finished with Sikkens. Since 2012, further improvements include refrigeration added to the icebox, new 135 headsail in 2020, new Bimini and sail covers, new Raymarine wind, speed, and depth instruments, and replacement of opening port screens.
Equipment includes a three-blade feathering Max-prop with weed cutter, Uniden VHF radio with cockpit control, Jensen FM/AM radio, Magellan GPS, deck vents, folding cockpit table, dock lines, fenders, life jackets, and double lifelines with gates and life sling. A winter cover is also included.
