1989 Tayana 55

This 1989 Tayana 55 is a classically designed sailing yacht built on a fiberglass hull with a cutter rig, centerboard, and center cockpit. The boat measures 55 feet in length with a 16-foot beam and is powered by a 110-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine paired with an 8-kilowatt Westerbeke generator. The deck layout includes a spacious aft platform, in-mast furling mainsail, furling genoa and staysail, plus a dodger and bimini for weather protection and visibility.

Below deck, the interior features teak joinery throughout. The main salon offers comfortable living space and connects to a well-appointed galley. The aft cabin includes an ensuite head with separate shower. Two forward cabins each sleep two, with one providing its own ensuite head and shower. A day head serves the forward area. All cabin spaces and the main salon are air-conditioned.

The yacht has been maintained with annual haulouts for bottom paint and zinc replacement. Recent work includes a new propeller (2025), deck refastening (2025), replacement AC units (2023–2025), generator heat exchanger replacement (2024), centerboard cable replacement (2023), cutlass bearing replacement (2022), and thru-hull fitting replacement (2022). The bottom was soda blasted and treated with InterProtect in 2008. Original rigging, chainplates, and sails remain in place. Fuel tanks are painted steel; water tanks are stainless steel.
