1989 Viking 48

This 1989 Viking 48 is a fiberglass sportfish built for serious offshore fishing. Twin Detroit Diesel 8V92TA engines produce roughly 735 horsepower each and drive the boat to fishing grounds with fuel capacity of 680 gallons and water for extended trips at 200 gallons. The 48-foot length and 16-foot beam give the hull stability and room to work.

The boat holds two staterooms sleeping four to six guests, with two full heads and showers for comfort on overnight trips. The galley is equipped with refrigerator, stove, and microwave, while the main salon offers seating and entertainment. The flybridge provides helm controls and seating, and the spacious cockpit is designed around fishing—outriggers, rod holders, and a fighting chair are included. A Strataglass bridge enclosure shields the upper controls.

Navigation includes dual 12-inch Garmin GPSMAP chartplotters with transducers and radar, a Simrad AP20 autopilot, dual Garmin VHF radios, and depth sounder. Recent maintenance has been thorough: new turbos, fuel lines replaced, water heater installed, heat exchangers cleaned in 2024, fresh bottom paint and zincs applied in 2025, teak finished in September 2025, and hull sides compounded and waxed in October 2025. The fighting chair and helm chairs were recovered, and an oil change was completed in May 2025. Central air conditioning and heating run throughout. The boat carries standard safety equipment including life jackets, fire extinguishers, and first aid kit.
