The Moody 376 Centre Cockpit is a 38-foot offshore cruising yacht designed by Bill Dixon and built by Marine Projects. Known for robust construction and seaworthiness, this 1991 model combines a spacious central cockpit with comprehensive cruising equipment. The hull was epoxy-treated following grit blasting in 2014, and the cutless bearing was replaced in June 2025.
Below deck, the layout includes six berths arranged across a aft owner's cabin, forward double cabin, convertible saloon, and two heads with electric toilets. A galley and forced-air heating complete the interior. The central cockpit provides sheltered, comfortable steering in all conditions.
Power comes from a Nanni 50 hp engine replaced in 2017 with approximately 720 operating hours. A three-blade MaxProp feathering propeller serves as primary propulsion, with a fixed three-blade backup available. A bow thruster with two dedicated batteries and charger aids maneuvering. An 2500W Mase generator, Ecopure Aquamarine watermaker (60 l/h), solar panels, and wind generator support extended cruising. An electric windlass, electric cockpit winch, and tender with outboard complete the powered systems.
The sail plan is comprehensive and modern: the mainsail runs in a mast-mounted roller from 2016, a newly rigged foresail on a furling stay, a revised genoa (2023), and spinnaker with sock. Original sails remain included and serviceable. Navigation electronics feature a complete Raymarine Axiom package—GPS, sounder, radar, and autopilot—alongside a Navicom VHF.
