1992 Cabo Rico 34
About This Yacht
A 1992 Cabo Rico 34 sailing yacht with a full-length keel and solid cruising pedigree. The boat measures 34 feet on deck with an 11-foot beam, displaces 15,500 pounds, and carries 5,800 pounds of lead ballast. The hull is fiberglass, and the yacht is equipped with a keel-stepped aluminum mast and a complete suit of sails—main, genoa, and staysail—all new in 2015 and lightly used. An asymmetric spinnaker (nearly new) rounds out the sail plan.
The layout includes a forward master cabin, starboard aft guest cabin, salon with galley, and one head with shower. The cockpit is spacious with a fold-up table. Navigation systems consist of a Raymarine E120 chartplotter with mast-mounted radar, depth sounder, and autopilot, plus a Standard Horizon Matrix GX2000 with AIS and DSC. The boat carries a 35-pound CQR primary anchor with 200 feet of chain, a 33-pound Bruce secondary anchor, and stern davits with a dinghy. A Viking six-person liferaft in a fiberglass canister sits on the coachroof.
The yacht has received substantial mechanical and systems upgrades in recent years. A new Yanmar 3YM30AE engine with transmission, propeller shaft, Flexifold propeller, and packing gland were all installed in 2021. Electrical upgrades include three house batteries and a starter battery (2022), plus solar panels (405 watts total) managed by a Blue Sky regulator. A new Muir Storm VRC1250 vertical windlass was installed in 2024. The galley has a new Force 10 two-burner stove with oven (2021), and the boat features a Webasto diesel cabin heater (rebuilt 2020), a Seafrost refrigerator-freezer with a rebuilt controller (2022), and a new electric Raritan toilet with upgraded sanitation hose (2021). The bottom received professional soda-blasting and two coats of Pettit primer in 2021. New eisenglass panels were fitted in the dodger in 2025.
