1992 Catalina 36 MkII

The 1992 Catalina 36 MkII is a fiberglass-hulled cruising sailboat built to the proven design that defined the class. She carries a 30-horsepower Universal diesel engine with saltwater cooling, paired with a robust electrical system featuring 4x6V house batteries, a Victron 100W solar panel, Heart Interface inverter/charger, and 30-amp shore power with galvanic isolator. Her rigging includes a Schaefer furling system with 150% genoa, Dutchman flaking system with a 2024 topping lift, inboard genoa tracks, and dual Lewmar #46 and #30 self-tailing winches. Navigation electronics comprise a Raymarine ST60 instrument package, Garmin GPS 128, Autohelm ST4000 autopilot, and Icom VHF radio.

Below deck, the layout centers on two private cabins plus a convertible salon. The forward cabin features a V-berth with storage and hatch ventilation. The aft cabin holds a large double berth that can be divided, with hanging locker and privacy curtain. The head includes a shower and teak grating. The salon offers a U-shaped dinette that converts to a double berth, a starboard-side settee, and a dedicated nav station with chart table. The galley is a large U-shaped space with a gimbaled Hillerange 2-burner propane stove/oven, dual stainless sinks with pressurized hot and cold water, and a top-loading icebox with Adler-Barbour 12V refrigeration.

Equipment includes a Maxwell windlass, 15-kilogram Bruce anchor with 300 feet of rode, 9-foot Oceanair RIB with Suzuki 2.5-hp outboard, transom shower, folding swim ladder, and Sunbrella dodger and bimini. The deck features cockpit table, helm cover, and new salon dorades. Recent maintenance in November 2025 involved bottom sanding and antifouling paint, rigging and mast tuning, mast reboot, running gear coating, and anode replacement by Blackline Marine. Fuel capacity is 32 gallons, fresh water 57 gallons, and holding tank 21 gallons. Headroom below is 6 feet 5 inches.
