This 1993 Columbia 50 is a custom-built sailing yacht with a fiberglass hull and 12-foot beam. The boat was constructed to individual specifications, featuring a modified racing deck adapted to the 50-foot hull and a thoughtfully designed interior. The hull sides were repainted in 2010. Power comes from a recently rebuilt Yanmar 4JH2-E four-cylinder diesel engine with only 6 hours of running time since the rebuild, complemented by a fresh-water cooled system and 50-gallon fuel tank.
The interior sleeps six across three cabins with an open, airy layout. Forward is a king berth with overhead hatch and cedar-lined storage. The ensuite head features a tub and shower with mirrored cabinetry and a lighted cedar locker. The salon provides two generous settees—one L-shaped at 6'6" on starboard and a single 6'6" settee to port. The galley is a spacious U-shape with blue tile counters and excellent overhead ventilation. The navigation station sits opposite with an upholstered seat and chart table. An aft cabin contains an athwartship double berth and ensuite head. Cabin soles are teak and holly in excellent condition. Interior cabinetry is white with mahogany trim and blue velour upholstery. Headroom throughout is 6'2".
The galley is equipped with a large ice box with Adler Barbour refrigeration, double stainless sinks, three-burner Force 10 propane stove with oven, and a six-gallon insulated water heater. Navigation and electronics include JRC 16-mile radar, Garmin GPS chartplotter, wind and depth instrumentation, dual VHF radios, and a full complement of clock and barometer. The electrical system runs 12V DC and 110V AC with three batteries, 30-amp charger, and 750-amp inverter.
Deck equipment includes a newly installed Newmar windlass with deck and remote switches, 300 feet of new chain and anchor, Santa Cruz 70 rudder, new lifelines from 2004, and pedestal steering with compass also from 2004. The sail inventory comprises five sails: new Quantum main, 135 percent genoa, staysail, and Ullman spinnaker, with Schaffer roller furling on both genoa and staysail. A bimini, swim ladder, spreader lights, and substantial storage complete the inventory.
