1979 Cheoy Lee CL 48

This 1979 Cheoy Lee CL 48 is a bluewater cruising ketch designed by Robert Perry. At 48 feet in length with a 13.7-foot beam, the boat combines seaworthiness with comfortable accommodation for extended passagemaking. A Beta 75 hp diesel engine provides adequate power for motor-sailing, with a cruising speed of 7 knots and maximum speed around 8.5 knots.

The interior layout offers spacious living arrangements with a bright, classical aesthetic. White cabin sole and teak trim throughout create an inviting atmosphere. The aft cabin features a large double berth with an ensuite head and shower. Forward and down one step is a main salon with a convertible double berth to port, dining table, and adjacent galley. A third cabin forward includes another head and shower shared with the main accommodation. Nine opening ports and five large deck hatches provide excellent ventilation throughout.

The boat underwent a major refit between 2008 and 2010, which included new masts, all new wiring and plumbing systems, and Corian countertops. A Northern Lights 8KW generator supplies power. The hull is fiberglass, and the boat sits on a modified full keel with a four-foot cutaway and a large skeg-mounted rudder paired with a three-bladed Max-Prop propeller. Port windows are new, fabricated from marine-grade materials. The boat is ready for serious offshore cruising with a comprehensive equipment package.
