1993 McKinna 48 Pilothouse

This 1993 McKinna 48 Pilothouse is a fiberglass motor yacht powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 TA diesel engines rated at 435 horsepower each. The engines were rebuilt with approximately 50 hours of running time as of August 2024. The yacht measures 48 feet in length with a 15.25-foot beam and carries 750 gallons of fuel capacity, supported by dual high-pressure rinse-down pumps delivering 6.5 gpm. Twin shafts and NiBral four-blade propellers were replaced in January 2026, and the propeller shafts were balanced and straightened. The hydraulic steering system and both steering pump components were renewed in the same period.

The layout comprises three staterooms and two heads, with a galley positioned in the pilothouse. The pilothouse provides a climate-controlled helm station suitable for single-handed operation and foul-weather cruising. The salon features large panoramic windows with rubber sealing completed in the last two years, complemented by an open-concept layout. The galley is equipped with a 22-cubic-foot refrigerator, convection microwave oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and ice maker. Below deck, staterooms feature handcrafted maple interiors, wooden finishes, and quality upholstery throughout.

Exterior spaces include a spacious cockpit, a flybridge with commanding helm visibility and seating, and a 42-inch swim platform with teak aft deck. The flybridge features a sink with hot and cold water and ice machine. Navigation and control systems include a Garmin chartplotter with dual screens, 72-mile radar, autopilot, depth sounder, and dual transducers. The yacht carries an Onan 15-kilowatt generator, a 2500-watt inverter with battery monitor, 50-gallon-per-hour reverse osmosis water system, and 270 gallons of fresh water storage. Recent work includes new flooring in the engine room, new custom mattresses, four Odyssey lithium house batteries, a Pro-Nautic battery charger, and various navigation and lighting upgrades. The dinghy received new tubes and is powered by a five-horsepower Nissan outboard.
