This 1994 Herreshoff Watch Hill 15 is a marconi-rigged one-design sailboat built by Dave Corcoran at Bull House Boatworks. The Watch Hill 15 descends from Nathanael Herreshoff's original Buzzards Bay 15 design of 1898; this version, with its marconi rig, was introduced by Sidney Herreshoff in 1922 and continues racing at Watch Hill, Rhode Island.
The hull measures 24.5 feet in length with a 6.75-foot beam and is built using traditional plank-on-frame construction over a laminated mahogany backbone. The deck is varnished teak over Dynel and epoxy-covered plywood. The marconi mast is varnished Sitka spruce. These boats are known for their speed, stiffness, and responsive handling; the slippery hull generates minimal wake even at speed.
The topsides and bottom were repainted in December 2024. The boat includes a trailer and comes equipped with a Mastervolt electrical system.
