1994 Hunter Passage

The 1994 Hunter Passage 42 is a center-cockpit cruising sailboat designed for extended voyaging. The raised helm station offers commanding visibility and protection, while the aft cabin layout provides unusually generous accommodation for a boat of this size. The fiberglass hull and in-mast sail systems balance comfort with practical handling underway.

Recent work includes a new forward-scanning radar, chart plotter, VHF radio, and AIS system. The thru-hull and waste systems were completely replaced, and a wind generator was added. Two Yanmar diesel engines and a Northern Lights generator provide reliable power. Cooling and comfort upgrades encompass new forward and aft air conditioning units with dedicated water pumps, plus a new inverter and battery bank. The V-berth received a new mattress, and fresh cockpit and sun deck cushions were installed. A new dinghy is included.

The hull was freshly painted in 2024. Navigation equipment centers on a Simrad Go7 XSE chart plotter with forward-scan sonar capability. A Maxwell windlass handles ground tackle, and the engine and generator have been actively maintained. This boat is equipped and ready for coastal cruising or offshore passages.
