1994 Island Packet 44

The Island Packet 44 is a cutter-rigged sailing yacht built on a fiberglass full-keel hull with shallow draft. The design balances offshore stability with interior volume, aided by an aft-wide beam. A traditional raised helm seat and thoughtfully arranged winches make deck work manageable from the cockpit. The 62-horsepower Yammer diesel engine powers the boat at a maximum speed of 8.24 knots.

Below deck, the interior combines function with traditional aesthetics. Teak joinery throughout provides solid fit and finish. The layout includes a U-shaped galley, starboard navigation station, salon with wraparound seating and fold-down dinette table, two staterooms, and two heads. Air conditioning keeps the interior comfortable. The two settees convert to sleeping berths, allowing accommodation for up to seven guests.

This yacht spent most of her operational life on freshwater lakes and Midwest waterways before being transported to Mobile, Alabama in 2024. At that point, the mast was re-bedded, standing rigging was inspected and re-tuned, and all running gear was replaced. The bottom was repainted in 2024 and the engine received service updates in 2025. A Highfield inflatable tender with a new 6-horsepower outboard motor is included.
