1995 Ted Brewer 44 Custom Offshore Cutter

This 1995 Ted Brewer 44 is a custom offshore cutter built for serious bluewater cruising. Designed as Brewer Design #98 and constructed in Everett, Washington, the yacht combines the designer's hallmark seakindliness with a full-keel underbody, cutter rig, flush deck, and pilothouse for protection and comfort on extended passages. The 44-foot hull on a 13.5-foot beam sits on fiberglass and is driven by a Detroit Diesel 3-53 producing 72 horsepower, with approximately 2,300 hours on the engine.

The accommodations center on two cabins and two heads, arranged for comfortable cruising and liveaboard use. The yacht features dual steering stations for protected watchkeeping and independent cockpit control, substantial fuel and water capacity for long-range voyaging, and full canvas enclosure plus foredeck awning for weather protection and tropical anchoring. Storage throughout is generous, reflecting the thoughtful layout of a purpose-built passagemaker.

The sail plan is a Quantum inventory replaced in 2019, including a gennaker for versatility. Standing rigging was renewed in 2022. Power systems include four 600-watt solar panels combined with a MarineKinetix wind generator. Navigation and connectivity are modern: updated Garmin electronics, radar, autopilot, and Starlink internet. A Vetus hydraulic bow thruster aids maneuvering. An Achilles HB-300FX tender with 9.9 horsepower Mercury four-stroke outboard is included. Brightwork has been recently refinished with freshly varnished mahogany toe rail.
