1995 Catalina 36 MkII

A 1995 Catalina 36 MkII in the tall rig and wing keel configuration. This model is recognized as one of the most successful cruising designs, valued for its comfortable accommodations, stable motion underway, and dependable Universal diesel auxiliary. The MkII variant introduced a walk-through transom, refined interior joinery, and an improved deck layout. The tall rig provides additional sail area suited to lighter winds, while the wing keel maintains a reasonable draft for shallower anchorages.

The boat sleeps two cabins with one head and features a single-engine 35 hp Universal diesel. She is rigged for easy handling with in-mast mainsail furling and a Schaefer headsail roller furler, making sail management practical for two people or a solo sailor. The canvas includes a new dodger, matching bimini, connector, and cockpit table cover in excellent condition.

Significant recent work is documented throughout: new house batteries and lifelines installed in 2024, new main halyard and swivel in 2025, and updated fuel lines, starter, and glow plugs between 2021 and 2023. The standing rigging was replaced roughly twelve years ago and the salon sole was refreshed at that time. The diesel engine is well maintained and operates reliably. The boat spent its entire life in fresh water on Lake Perry and Lake Michigan, stored indoors and heated.
