The 1995 Farallon Whaleback is a 25-foot sportfishing boat built from fiberglass and designed for the demanding waters off Northern California. Powered by a Volvo Penta engine with a new GXi-F 5.7 block paired with a recently installed VP outdrive (DPSM 1.95 with Duoprop F3 aluminum props), the engine has approximately 300 hours since rebuild. Recent work includes a new Engine Control Module, alternator, starter, port injector system, risers, gimbal joint, and transom shield. A spare Duoprop F5 SST outdrive is included.
The boat is equipped for serious fishing with two fish holds—one fitted with a macerator pump—plus a live bait system on the stern. Bilge capacity includes forward and rear automatic systems and a rear manual pump. Electronics comprise two VHF radios, Furuno radar, and a Simrad NSS12 sonar and GPS chartplotter with ship-to-shore power and cable.
Accommodation includes a two-berth cabin and a porta-potty. The teak swim deck and 200-gallon fuel capacity support extended offshore work. The hull and outdrive are protected with ablative paint suitable for slip storage. A Pacific trailer recently refurbished is included, along with spare paint, boat jacks, nets, gaffs, and additional spare parts.
