1995 Hunter 29.5
About This Yacht
The 1995 Hunter 29.5 is a fiberglass sloop designed for accessible coastal cruising. With a 10.5-foot beam and shallow draft, the boat delivers a spacious cockpit and can reach into anchorages beyond the range of deeper-draft vessels. The fractional rig balances efficiency with ease of handling, suited to sailing short-handed or with a small crew. A Yanmar 2GMF 20 hp diesel engine provides auxiliary power, with cruising speeds around 6 knots and a maximum of 7 knots under sail.
The layout includes a forward V-berth, a bright main salon, and an aft cabin arrangement, with generous headroom throughout. A single head serves the accommodations. The boat sleeps multiple occupants comfortably for overnight stays or longer coastal passages.
Recent upgrades include two new sets of sails, a 600 amp lithium house battery, a new Lewmar electric windlass with a Rocna anchor, and updated running rigging. Navigation equipment comprises a Garmin 94 GPS chartplotter with sonar and a new ICOM VHF radio with AIS. A Raytheon autopilot supports passage-making, while comfort improvements encompass a new 11-gallon hot water heater, new water pressure pump, and refreshed interior cushions. A new sail cover is fitted. The bottom receives monthly maintenance.
