This 54-foot custom schooner, built in 1996, draws inspiration from the classic Biloxi schooner design of the Gulf Coast. The hull is constructed of pressure-treated southern yellow pine, with a steel centerboard that retracts via hand winch to draw just 3.5 feet with the board up and 6.5 feet with it down. The mast and bowsprit are solid pressure-treated pine, while the booms, gaffs, and topmast use laminated spruce for reduced weight. The boat displaces 32 tons and has a beam of 17 feet 9 inches.
The deck layout offers generous working and passenger space, with 40-inch side decks and a substantial aft deck measuring 15 by 11 feet. The cabin areas span 16 feet wide by 6 feet long, providing room for guests. The boat features a Lunenburg Foundry Ratchet Gypsy Windlass, a Thern Spur Gear hand winch for centerboard operation, and a Lunenburg Puritan Steerer with a 32-inch bronze wheel for steering.
The interior includes four cabins and three heads, with bulkheads and tongue-and-groove paneling in pressure-treated pine and white oak cabin flooring. A single 150-horsepower Cummins diesel engine powers the vessel. The boat was previously operated on successful dolphin cruise and day charter services over a ten-year period.
