This 1996 Valiant 39 embodies the offshore cruising design that Robert Perry developed in the 1970s—a hull form built for serious passage-making and designed to sail efficiently by a small crew. The yacht features a canoe stern, skeg-hung rudder, and external lead ballast that work together to provide solid directional control and a low center of gravity. The hull is fiberglass, built with the structural integrity Valiant is known for, and the rig is a custom mast with through-deck and keel-stepped configuration for maximum strength.

The boat carries a Westerbeke diesel engine of 35 horsepower and includes heavy-duty equipment throughout: Lewmar Ocean series hatches, Hood stainless ports, an anchor roller built to commercial standards, and oversized self-tailing winches to make sail handling manageable. All plumbing and electrical systems meet or exceed marine standards, with bronze and stainless steel through-hull ball valves positioned for easy access. Tank, pump, and engine access are straightforward by design.

Accommodation includes four cabins and one head. The layout reflects the yacht's philosophy of comfort paired with seaworthiness, with systems engineered for ease of maintenance and regular service. The boat underwent bottom paint in May 2024.
