The 1997 Bertram 54 Convertible is a fiberglass sportfish boat powered by twin 2200-horsepower Detroit diesel engines. This model has earned a strong reputation as a rough-water performer and tournament competitor, and this example has been substantially upgraded and maintained throughout 2024.
The interior accommodates three staterooms and three heads, each with separate shower stalls. The salon features a 50-foot entertainment television, and the galley includes new Subzero drawer refrigerator-freezers. New carpet and recovered settees throughout the salon and galley refresh the living spaces.
Recent upgrades include a comprehensive suite of Garmin electronics: one 16-inch and three 12-inch multifunction displays, a 9-inch display, two VHF radios, an autopilot system, and a high-definition 6-foot open array radar. Additional systems added include a FLIR camera, engine room and cockpit cameras, KVH M3, and four new underwater lights.
Mechanical and infrastructure work completed includes new steering helm and hoses on the flybridge, replacement of most engine room fuel lines, a new Racor 1000 fuel filter system on the starboard engine, and a new Fireboy automatic fire suppression system. Four new air conditioning systems with fresh air handlers, condensers, and lines were installed, along with new live well and AC pumps, all bilge pumps, a new master head, new batteries, and LED lighting throughout. Engine room surfaces were painted, exhaust hoses replaced, and the back deck removed and repainted.
