The Fountaine Pajot Athena 38 is a 38-foot sailing catamaran with a 20-foot beam, built in fiberglass and powered by twin 36-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines. Designed by Joubert-Nivelt, the boat combines performance and cruising comfort with the stability and spacious layout characteristic of the catamaran format.
Recent maintenance and upgrades include new anchor chain, antifouling and primer epoxy applied to the hull, and a comprehensive engine refresh completed in late 2024 and early 2025. The dual diesels have new fuel pumps, belts, fuel hoses, and injector gaskets. Fresh water pumps and filters were replaced, along with a new fridge system including evaporator, compressor, condenser, and thermostat. Plumbing systems received attention with new toilet pumps and gaskets. The sails—main, genoa, bimini, and lazy bay—were sent out for inspection and stitching repair.
Additional updates include new lines around the trampoline, a new carburetor kit for the dinghy engine, new bridle for the anchor, and non-skid coating applied to the cockpit floor. The boat is a practical platform for sailing and cruising.
