1997 Gorbon Custom 66

A 66-foot custom sailing yacht designed by naval architect Fatih Gorbon and built in 1997 using West System cold-molded composite construction. Originally commissioned as a performance racer, the boat was converted to a luxury cruiser in 2000 with a complete custom interior installation and full cruising systems. The single Yammer diesel engine produces 154 horsepower and runs on less than 2,000 hours, supporting cruising speeds of 8 knots with a maximum speed of 10 knots.

The layout accommodates four cabins and four heads, with expansive deck space designed for comfortable sailing. Notable features include dual cockpit areas—a covered center cockpit with teak table and an aft driving station—forward lounging pads, and dual electrical systems wired throughout for both 220-volt and 125-volt charging and inverting. The boat is easily managed shorthanded and performs well in a variety of conditions.

Recent work includes a new bow thruster, freshly painted mast and boom, new dodger and bimini, hull topsides repainted, and new runners. The yacht has been professionally maintained throughout its service life. This design combines the performance characteristics of a racing platform with the comfort systems and accommodations of a modern cruising yacht, making it suitable for extended offshore passages.
